A certified family nurse practitioner who has practiced interventional pain management in Flowood since 2016, after a career that runs from intensive care nursing to first assisting in orthopedic surgery. Patients see her for evaluations, treatment planning, injections, and ongoing care, and can schedule with her directly.

Every visit starts the way it does with Dr. Smitherman: your history, a physical exam, and a diagnosis before any treatment. Emily evaluates new and returning patients, orders and interprets imaging and labs, and builds the treatment plan with you.
She performs joint and trigger point injections, manages medications, and coordinates care with Dr. Smitherman and with your other providers, so seeing her is never a detour on the way to being treated.
