Hip and SI joint pain
Pain around the hip, buttock, and SI joint can originate from several different structures, and sometimes from the lumbar spine. Identifying the true source is important before selecting treatment.
What may be causing your hip pain?
- Sacroiliac joint pain and dysfunction
- Hip osteoarthritis
- Greater trochanteric pain syndrome (bursitis)
- Lumbar radiculopathy or referred pain from the spine
- Muscle and tendon related pain
The diagnosis picks the treatment
Nothing is treated until the source is confirmed. Treatment then comes from one or more of these categories. Which one, and whether any procedure is needed at all, is decided with you after the evaluation.
- Interventional Spine
Reaches the exact structure causing the pain. Image-guided injections and nerve procedures for a disc, a facet joint, the SI joint, or an irritated nerve.
- Joint and Musculoskeletal
For when the joint itself is the source. Ultrasound- and X-ray-guided treatment for the knee, hip, and shoulder, and for the nerves around those joints.
